An all new musical event.
about
our movie
“Sliced.” is a satirical musical comedy film that ventures into the “break-into-song” musical style, poking fun at the classic phenomenon.
In the harsh winters of Upstate New York, the young and poor pizza delivery guys are doing whatever they can to stay off the streets and make good tips.
Mr. Pizza, the owner of all pizza, notices the decrease in sales and swipes every last dime that they make in tips. Benny, a smart-mouthed delivery boy, creates a rebellion amongst the pizza guys against him to sue him for all he has.
Anthony, a college student studying journalism, is looking for a groundbreaking idea. Something that hasn’t been heard of before. He discovers the pizza guys and tries to get them to back out of the lawsuit, due to their unsteady income. He introduces Benny to his friend Lauren, a law student, to see if she could help in any way. She agrees to help them and represent them in the case.
WhERE DID THIS COME FROM?
In 2022, a young man from Long Island named Jake Morris put together an idea for a feature length film, in which he would document spontaneous ideas through a singular video camera and other equipment. The film later became “That’s a Lot of Rocks!”, which released on April 19, 2024. The film featured an Original Soundtrack of 16 songs, all produced by Jake Morris.
The film was a local success, gaining over 1,500 views on YouTube within 48 hours of its premiere and a well received rating from those who watched. However, for Morris, this was a low-effort project. This was only the beginning.
The summer following the film’s release, Jake was awoken in laughter from a very odd dream he had. He had dreamt of pizza delivery men walking in a group with pizza boxes, then spontaneously breaking out into a ballet routine. Twirling, spinning, and flipping their way through the city streets.
Due to the well-received comments toward Jake Morris’s ability to well-handle a musical, he began to develop a script on the idea. Being that “That’s a Lot of Rocks!” was a completely satirical film, as in having no plot or purpose, Jake wanted to put maximum effort into this new project. The goal of this film is to pave the way for more original musicals to come through, and to incorporate modern comedy in a way that’s never been done before.
